How we count: 42 means 42 files matching config/hooks/live/*.hook.chroot on GoForge — not a smaller batch “packed into” forty-two names. Older images used fewer hooks; some stages merged (e.g. voice extras into 0400). The live ISO may show fewer Alfred hook markers inside the squashfs until reseal — see /docs and includes/ga-release-state.php.
